Prof Mae-Lynn is a senior consultant ophthalmologist and Professor of Vitreoretina who heads of the vitreo-retinal services at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz @ Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and coordinates the UKM fellowship programme in Vitreoretinal Surgery. Holder of the Award for Best Senior Clinical teacher in 2019 and 2025 from Faculty of Medicine, her research also netted the Gold Award for best research by College of Ophthalmologists @ Academy of Medicine Malaysia (COAMM) in 2025. She holds the patent for topical insulin for corneal epithelial defects in diabetics for UKM. She is the Regional Secretary (Malaysia) of the Asia-Pacific Vitreoretinal Society (APVRS), and Co-Chair of the APVRS 2027 Scientific Programme. She is council member of the ASEAN Ophthalmological Society, Vice-President of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology and Founding Chair of the Retinal Chapter @ COAMM. Her main private practice is at UKM Specialist Centre.
