Dr. Ruba Theesan is a Medical Retina consultant at The Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital. She completed her FRCOphth (London) in 2018 and underwent advanced subspecialty fellowship training in medical retina at the Singapore National Eye Center where she developed expertise in the management of complex retinal vascular diseases, macular disorders, and inherited retinal conditions. Her clinical focus includes diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusions, with proficiency in retinal multimodal imaging, intravitreal pharmacotherapy, laser therapy and cataract surgery. Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Ruba Theesan has contributed to academic ophthalmology through publications, teaching, and presentations at regional and international meetings. She has been admitted as a Fellow of the College of Ophthalmologists, Malaysian Academy of Medicine. She is passionate about integrating cutting-edge diagnostics with patient-centered care and is committed to advancing retinal disease management in Malaysia. With a strong foundation in both tertiary care and community practice, she aims to provide high-quality, accessible retina services while continuing research and education in the field.
