Dr. Dion Paridaens, PhD, MD, is Medical Director of the Rotterdam Eye Hospital and a leading authority in oculoplastic and orbital surgery. He serves as Oculoplastic Fellowship Director and Head of the Residency Program, overseeing the training of 27 residents, and is Consultant Orbital Surgeon at Erasmus Medical Center. Internationally active, he also consults in Zurich and Paris. Dr. Paridaens is President of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS) and holds key editorial roles with Acta Ophthalmologica and The British Journal of Ophthalmology. A prolific scholar, he has authored more than 210 PubMed-indexed papers, contributed numerous book chapters, and co-edited the ESOPRS textbook. His distinguished career includes prior leadership roles within ESOPRS and Orbit Journal. He has received multiple honors, including the FC Donders Prize and national recognition as one of the Netherlands’ top medical educators.
