Professor Dr Shatriah Ismail is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and currently serves as the Deputy Director of Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kelantan. She obtained both her medical degree and postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

 

Professor Shatriah has authored more than 150 publications in reputable medical journals and has established research collaborations with institutions in Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and several other countries. Her primary areas of interest include strabismus and refractive errors in children.

 

In addition, she serves on the editorial board of the Medical Journal of Malaysia, is an Associate Editor for Cureus Medical Journal, and acts as a reviewer for over 20 medical journals. With extensive experience as a senior academician, Professor Shatriah has played a significant role in postgraduate ophthalmology training in Malaysia.

 

She is a member of the Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology and currently serves as the Chief Examiner for the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (Ophthalmology) in Malaysia.
Professor Shatriah is also the current President of the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia.
