Dr. Duratul is a Senior Principal Assistant Director at the Allied Health Sciences Division, MOH Malaysia; leading the Research Unit. She earned PhD in Public Health Optometry from the Queensland University.
With more than two decades of service; spanning clinical care, research, and policy, Dr. Duratul is dedicated in advancing equitable eye care. She was one of the key people establishing high-impact expansion in Primary Eye Care for MOH optometry, started Amblyopia and Vision Impairment Screening (AVIS) program and Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) services in MOH and private sector, while representing Malaysia at global platforms on blindness prevention.
Beyond current role, she leads an international project with the Brien Holden Foundation on the project Reducing Childhood Blindness for Disadvantaged Children in Malaysia and appointed as sessional optometrist for CVI Services at private hospitals, building multidisciplinary capacity; driven by hope that every child deserves the right to see, learn, and thrive.
