Dr. Yuen Yew Sen is a Senior Consultant in Ophthalmology at the National University Hospital (NUH) and Alexandra Hospital, as well as an Assistant Professor and Director of Undergraduate Education at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

As a cataract and vitreoretinal surgeon, his clinical practice concentrates on complex cataracts, medical and surgical retinal conditions, and uveitis. He is actively involved in clinical trials exploring the next generation of treatments for these conditions. Notably, he was an investigator in the Velodrome and SANDCAT trials, evaluating advanced therapies like the refillable port delivery system and new intravitreal medications aimed at improving the long-term management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and uveitis.

Alongside his research and clinical duties, Dr. Yuen serves as Core Faculty for the NUHS Ophthalmology Residency Programme and has received several teaching honors, including the NUHS Teaching Excellence Award. He communicates fluently with patients in English, Mandarin, and Malay.
