Dr. Penny Lott Pooi Wah is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Senior Medical Lecturer at the University of Malaya and University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She specializes in Medical Retina and Uveitis, with advanced subspecialty training at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, United Kingdom, and a clinical attachment at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth), United Kingdom.
Dr. Penny is actively involved in postgraduate ophthalmology education, serving as an examiner, lecturer, and coordinator for residency training programs. She contributes significantly to clinical service development, surgical training workshops, and national ophthalmology education initiatives. Her research interests include retinal diseases, ocular imaging, uveitis, and translational clinical research. She has published in peer-reviewed international journals and collaborates with regional and international research groups. In addition, she is frequently invited to speak at ophthalmology conferences, sharing expertise in medical retina, ocular imaging, and evidence-based ophthalmic practice.
