Associate Professor Dr Azlina Mokhtar is a skillful ophthalmic surgeon and an experienced lecturer with 20 years of experience in ophthalmology and more than 24 years in the medical field. She completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate training at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Dr Azlina pursued her interest in her subspecialty of choice and was granted Fellowship in Public Health in Ophthalmology by the Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2020. Apart from her service as a lecturer in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), she is actively involved in the outreach program and spearheads a mobile ophthalmology clinic to deliver outpatient service to the locals who live far from health facilities. This has facilitated and positively affected those who need cataract surgery and/ or any eye services, ensuring that quality eye care reaches rural areas.
